South Calgary Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Brian Whitestone hails from Toronto. Following graduation from the University of Toronto, he experienced two years of post-graduate training at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto prior to his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Dr. Whitestone came to Calgary in July 1988. He is a member of the Royal College of Dentists, of Canada in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Whitestone is the Section Head of Oral / Maxillofacial Surgery in Calgary and teaches the GPR residents at Foothills Hospital. Dr. Whitestone is an active volunteer with the Kindness in Action Society, providing surgical care for patients in Latin and South America.

Dr. Brett Habijanac was born in Medicine Hat, and was raised in Calgary. He obtained his dental degree from the University of British Columbia in 1999. He then completed an internship in hospital dentistry at the Montreal General Hospital in Quebec. Dr. Habijanac undertook his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at McGill University in Montreal. He returned to Calgary in 2004. Dr. Habijanac is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Miller Smith was born and raised in Calgary, and obtained his Dental degree at the University of Alberta. He sought additional Hospital Dentistry training in San Antonio, Texas before undertaking further postgraduate specialty training. At the University of Michigan he received his Medical degree and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery training. He has recently completed a fellowship post in Head & Neck Oncology, Microvascular Surgery and Craniofacial Reconstruction overseas in Glasgow, United Kingdom. He has published numerous articles and co-authored several textbook chapters with a special interest in Tissue Engineering. Dr. Smith is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada
