Dr. Daniel O'Connor is a registered Specialist Orthodontist with the Dental Board of Australia and Director at Solas Orthodontics.
Daniel was born in Cork, Ireland, where he completed a 5-year Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS NUI) in 2002.
He subsequently moved to London where he soon became Head Dental Associate at the prestigious Family Dental Practice, where he stayed for four years. During this time, Daniel developed his interests in cosmetic and preventive dentistry, and completed entry into Specialist training at the Royal College of Surgeons England.
A subsequent move to Hong Kong saw Daniel complete a 3-year specialist orthodontic residency at the Prince Philip Dental Hospital. This program had a strong emphasis on early interceptive treatment for children, dentofacial orthopaedic treatment for adolescents and various approaches for adult treatment, including cosmetic and invisible (Invisalign, Damon Clear, Incognito lingual) braces.
After graduating with a Masters in Orthodontics (MOrth) from the University of Hong Kong, he also successfully completed membership to the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (MOrth RCS).
His orthodontic research has been internationally published and he has presented at the European Orthodontic Conference in 2010 and 2013.
Daniel is an active member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian Society of Orthodontists and European Orthodontic Society, in an effort to keep up with the latest advances within the industry and provide his patients with the most current orthodontic treatment solutions.
