Biography:

Lisa graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2010 after studying a Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS). She was initially drawn to the dental industry after her own adolescent experience with braces highlighted how varied dentistry could be.

Having recently joined the d-spa family, Lisa has quickly become known for her patient, gentle and understanding approach to patients: “I enjoy caring for those with dental anxiety to try to make their visit as pleasant as possible.” In fact, she admits that the most enjoyable aspect of her role is the opportunity to get to know her patients and design effective treatment plans to suit their individual needs. Lisa’s dental philosophy is grounded firmly on preventive care principles and she supplements this with ongoing research and training in order to ensure she continues to provide her patients with the highest level of dental care.

For Sarah, prevention is key to her dental philosophy and she believes that ongoing patient education is vital in ensuring her patients develop strong and lasting oral care routines as well as maintaining regular dental attendance. Sarah is also passionate about nurturing her patient relationships and enjoys building a good rapport with her patients and getting to know them beyond their teeth whilst also striving to provide them with the highest professionalism and excellence in patient care. In particular, Sarah derives great personal satisfaction from her involvement with children at d-spa: “I really enjoy treating young children and helping them develop good oral care routines as well as ensuring they see coming to the dentist as a good experience.”

Sarah Phoenix

Job Title:
  Dental Auxiliary
Biography:
Sarah’s desire to enter the dental profession was piqued by her positive childhood memories of going to the dentist: “My childhood dental visits inspired me to become an Oral Health Therapist, so I could give the same experiences to my patients, both young and old, whilst educating them on good oral hygiene.” After graduating with a Bachelor of Oral Health (Therapy/Hygiene) from Charles Sturt University, Sarah joined the d-spa family in 2012.
Sarah believes that what differentiates her from other dental providers is her commitment to making each patient feel special and valued in her dental chair. Dedicated wholeheartedly to her patients, Sarah strives to give her patients the highest quality of care possible, priding herself on her gentle treatment and ability to build a great rapport with her patients. However, the most rewarding aspect of her job “seeing the changes in oral health through improvements in my patients’ home care.” In particular, Sarah enjoys working with younger child patients through childrens dentistry, helping them develop positive experiences at the dentist.
