Dr. Lawrence Lau is the principal of Sydney Laser Dental Care.
Before entering dentistry Lawrence attended boarding school at St Joseph’s College, Hunter’s Hill.
Lawrencereceived his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours from Sydney University in 1997. After one and half years employed in private practice Lawrence together with he now wife Dr. Gloria Shih open their first practice together in Sylvania Waters. This successful partnership in both their professional and personal life lead to the opening of another practice in the newly revitalised inner city suburb of Pyrmont.
Lawrence and Dr. Gloria Shih had always stayed at the forefront of advances in dental technology, and it is with this mindset that in 2005 saw the introduction of CEREC; Computer aided design and manufacturing of ceramic crowns, inlay, onlays and veneers into their already busy practice. This meant that these procedures could be completed in one single visit with one anaesthetic without the need for temporaries and impressions. In 2010 saw the introduction of the latest in CEREC AC system into their practice which does all the things CEREC did before only now faster, more accurate and more fun for both dentist and patient.
In 2007 saw the introduction of Laser dentistry into Lawrence and Dr. Shih’s both practices, this technology allowed new and improved procedures to be carried out on patients, giving better results, more comfortably. Lawrence and Dr. Shih are so confident with this new technology that both practice have undergone a rebranding giving birth to Sydney Laser Dental Care. Lawrence and Dr. Shih are proud of the fact that they are still only a handful of practices that offers this revolutionary treatment option, which is reflected in our motto “experience the gentle difference.
In 2011 sees the next chapter in the growth of Sydney Laser Dental Care with the opening of a third location in the leafy suburb of Illawong. This all new purpose built premise will offer all of the latest advances in dentistry to patients including Laser dentistry and CEREC.
