Kwasi A. Debra MD MBA is the Medical Director of Aesthetic Laser and Vein center offering Cosmetic Surgery in Bowie, Maryland. He is a former chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology department at the CJW Chippenham Medical Center, Richmond, Virginia. He was also an Assistant Clinical Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond. Dr. Debra is a founding partner and chairman of Forbes Ambulatory Surgery Center in Lanham, Maryland. Dr. Debra is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the following organizations: American College of Phlebology, American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Debra is a past president of the Ghana Physicians and Surgeons Foundation. Dr. Debra’s basic training in medicine began at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology School of Medical Sciences in Ghana. He later joined Howard University Hospital where he trained in Internal Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Furthermore, he completed a Master of Business Administration degree at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. In his 27 years of dedication to women’s health from their teens to menopause, Dr. Debra has grown his practice and reputation on specializing in these areas. More recently, Dr. Kwasi Debra received additional training in liposuction and in the use of laser-assisted technologies and devices to perform minimally invasive procedures to help sculpt nearly any area of the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including: the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. During the past decade liposuction, which is also known as “lipoplasty” or “suction lipectomy”, has benefited from several new refinements.Today, a number of new techniques including Smartlipo MPX and Triplex with the tumescent technique, and wet technique, are helping many cosmetic surgeons to provide selected patients with more precise results and quicker recovery times. In addition, Dr. Debra performs other procedures to help with skin rejuvenation, laser hair removal, varicose vein treatment using laser and radiofrequency, sclerotherapy of spider veins, anti-aging, Titan skin-tightening, and vaginal rejuvenation. Often used in conjunction with other plastic surgery techniques, laser-assisted liposuction removes pockets of fat from troublesome areas such as the thighs, hips, abdomen and upper arms. In addition this technique stimulates collagen production in the skin which then helps tighten loose skin.
