Dr Michael Moses
Job Title:
Surgeon Biography:
Michael Moses, MD, FACS, has been practicing the art and science of plastic surgery for 30 years. Dr. Moses wants all of his patients to get to that point where they are happy with their appearance. He strives to achieve a “natural look” that complements not only every patient’s features, but their personality as well. Dr. Moses needs to know your priorities, aesthetics, and goals, as well as what you want and what you don’t want. A native of New Orleans, Dr. Moses went to Yale College, then back home to medical school at Tulane. He returned to Yale for his general surgery residency, then to a plastic surgery residency at Harvard, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He did a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at The Children’s Hospital and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He held faculty appointments in the Departments of Surgery at both Yale and Harvard. From his mentor, Harvard surgeon Dr. John Constable, Dr. Moses learned the value of sharing his knowledge in plastic surgery with colleagues around the world. Dr. Moses has traveled to Honduras, Nicaragua, India, Haiti, and Vietnam to teach plastic surgeons in those countries. He strongly subscribes to the dictum: “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, feed him for life.” Currently, Dr. Moses is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Touro Infirmary and the Director of the Cleft and Craniofacial team at Children’s Hospital. He is on the plastic surgery faculties of Tulane and LSU Schools of Medicine. Dr. Moses is also an avid art collector, specializing in New Orleans artists. He loves to discuss his art collection with patients and friends. In his spare time, Dr. Moses also enjoys golf, fly fishing, New Orleans food and music, and spending time with his four sons. With the slightest provocation, he will talk to you about the Saints. Dr. Moses wants his patients to feel comfortable with him, his office, and the staff. Your first consultation will take an hour so he can get to know you and hear about your goals and plans. For cosmetic surgery, all patients will see us for at least one additional visit before surgery. Our staff will always be available to you before and after surgery to help you throughout the process to achieve your aesthetic goals.
