Dr. Lipschitz has an international medical background and has traveled across the world to obtain the best surgical education. He earned his medical degree at the University of Cape Town Medical School in South Africa, site of the world’s first heart transplant. His passion for all aspects of plastic surgery is clearly evident in his surgical results and academic contributions. Dr. Lipschitz’s dedication to the advancement of plastic surgery is demonstrated by the numerous articles and book chapters he has authored. He is considered a leader in the field. His work has been presented at many plastic surgery conferences, including the Plastic Surgery Research Council, American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. His active research in the field of plastic surgery has earned awards from such prestigious organizations as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Lipschitz served on the editorial board of Selected Readings in Plastic Surgery, a scientific review read throughout the world. Few plastic surgeons in the Palm Beach and Treasure Coast area have contributed as extensively to plastic surgery literature. After his residency, Dr. Lipschitz and his family had many relocation options but fell in love with South Florida after visiting the area during his fellowship. They decided to settle here after Dr. Lipschitz completed his training at Johns Hopkins as the beauty, warm weather and lifestyle of the area reminded them of their native South Africa.Specialties: After working and training in various surgical disciplines in Cape Town, Johannesburg, London, and Nottingham in England, he was selected for an aesthetic surgery research fellowship at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, training under well-known leaders in the field. He spent time in and out of operating rooms with top cosmetic surgeons in the US, published several papers on plastic surgery topics from breast reconstruction to body contouring and liposuction & use of cells in cosmetic surgery.Dr. Lipschitz completed his general surgery training at UT Southwestern where he excelled academically, receiving numerous awards including the Resident Teaching Award, for best teaching and scoring in the top 1% of surgical residents for the surgical in-service exam and presented his academic work at meetings in the USA and South Africa. He was selected for the Plastic Surgery Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and completed his training at Johns Hopkins and University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, considered one of the top training programs in the USA because of its depth, breadth, and intensity of education. Many leaders in plastic surgery have completed this prestigious program. During his training, Dr. Lipschitz developed a greater interest in aesthetic surgery and further trained at Manhattan Eye and Ear in New York underworld leaders in aesthetic surgery.
