Facelift
Through incisions that are well hidden in the temporal scalp, in front of and behind the ears the facial skin is elevated. A structure called the SMAS (sub-muscular aponeurotic system) is elevated as a tissue flap. This special flap carries the fat and muscles of the face. By elevating and tightening the SMAS in the proper vector Dr. Adamson is able to elevate the cheeks, re-shape the jaw-line, reposition the jowls and tighten the neck. By placing the tension on the SMAS rather than the skin, as in other types of facelifts, this lift creates a natural, beautiful rejuvenation without the “overpulled” look of some lifts.
