About Mr Chris Cartlidge
We offer Breast augmentation, breast implants, breast reduction and breast uplift at our Edinburgh and Stirling clinics, in Scotland. Safe and careful cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery. I am a consultant oncoplastic and cosmetic breast surgeon working in NHS Fife, NHS Forth Valley and in private practice. I am on the GMC specialist register and have been a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in general and breast surgery since 2018. I completed a National Oncoplastic Fellowship at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield.
I perform surgery for breast cancer, risk-reduction and benign breast disease and specialise in breast reconstruction, including implant reconstruction, pedicled flap (LD) and fat transfer. I also undertake procedures for correcting asymmetry following breast cancer treatment, revisional breast surgery, salvage of breasts following surgical complications, and cosmetic breast surgery. I have trained in chest wall reconstruction for gender reassignment.
I care a great deal about my patients: getting you the right treatment and giving you a result that you are happy with. I work closely with my colleagues in radiology, pathology and oncology to make decisions about management, and with my team of nurses and allied professionals in theatre and the outpatient clinic to give you the best care we can. I will always be guided by your ideas, concerns and hopes and I aim to be approachable and available to answer your questions.
I studied at Edinburgh University, graduating with a first-class BSc (Hons) in Experimental Pathology in 2003 and MB ChB (Hons) in 2006, winning gold medals in both Surgery and Medicine. I continued my surgical training in southeast Scotland including almost 3 years working under Prof Mike Dixon OBE at the Edinburgh Breast Unit.
