Dr Colin Tham is a consultant plastic surgeon in private practice. He is accredited and recognised as a specialist plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon by the Singapore Ministry of Health.
Dr Tham obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 1992. He proceeded with his basic and advanced specialty training in plastic surgery with the Singapore General Hospital and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Ireland) in 1999. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Singapore) and a committee member for the Singapore Chapter of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons.
Dr Tham subspecialised in the field of aesthetics from early in his career. In 2003, he was awarded a government Human Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) grant for a fellowship in Oriental Aesthetic Surgery at the prestigious ChangGung Memorial Hospital (Taiwan). In 2005, he set up the Aesthetic Centre in Singapore’s premier KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where he still returns as a visiting consultant. Dr Tham left the public sector in 2006 to join Asia HealthPartners, where he is currently the Director of the Aesthetics Division.
Dr Tham was one of two pioneer plastic surgeons who were trained by Dr Alfredo Hoyos in Vaser Hi-definition liposculpture and introduced the technique to Singapore in 2007. In recognition of his technical expertise, Dr Tham was appointed a Silhouette Threadlift trainer in 2010. On a non-surgical front, Dr Tham has been involved in the previous development of Thermage and the current development of Ulthera, an FDA-approved non-invasive lifting device. Dr Tham has had the privilege of being invited to conduct both Thermage and Ulthera workshops to train doctors internationally.
Dr Tham continues to hone his craft on the cutting edge of both cosmetic surgery and non-invasive aesthetic procedures, often combining the two in his passionate pursuit of maximum results with minimal downtime.
