Cosmetic plastic surgery includes surgical and nonsurgical procedures
that enhance and reshape structures of the body to improve appearance
and confidence. Healthy individuals with a positive outlook and
realistic expectations are appropriate candidates for cosmetic
procedures. Plastic surgery is a personal choice and should be done for
yourself, not to meet someone else’s expectations or to try to fit an
ideal image. Because it is elective, cosmetic surgery is usually not
covered by health insurance.
Liposuction, sometimes referred to as "lipo" by
patients, slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing
excess fat deposits and improving your body contours and proportion.
What liposuction can treat- Thighs
- Hips and buttocks
- Abdomen and waist
- Upper arms
- Back
- Inner knee
- Chest area
- Cheeks, chin and neck
- Calves and ankles
The Liposuction Advantage
- One treatment may be all you need to reshape problem areas
- Treat more areas—and larger areas—in one procedure
- May be performed with either local or general anesthesia
- More consistent and predictable result than noninvasive treatments
What liposuction can't do
Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for proper diet and exercise.
It
is also not an effective treatment for cellulite—the dimpled skin that
typically appears on the thighs, hips and buttocks—or loose saggy skin.
What is a mommy makeover?
The goal of a
mommy makeover is to restore the shape
and appearance of a woman's body after childbearing. Many women notice
changes in their bodies post-pregnancy. There are many areas of the body
that can be addressed, most commonly the breasts, abdomen, waist,
genitalia and buttocks. A mommy makeover is typically performed as a
single stage procedure. There are many techniques used to perform a
mommy makeover, and many factors should be taken into consideration when
choosing which techniques
Breast augmentation, sometimes referred to as a "breast aug" or "boob job" by patients, involves using breast implants or fat transfer
to increase the size of your breasts. This procedure can also restore
breast volume lost after weight reduction or pregnancy, achieve a more
rounded breast shape or improve natural breast size asymmetry.
body lift improves the shape and tone of the
underlying tissue that supports skin and fat. Excess sagging skin and
fat are removed and the procedure(s) can improve a dimpled, irregular
skin surface.
Gynecomastia surgery reduces breast size in men, flattening and enhancing the chest contours.
In
severe cases of gynecomastia, the weight of excess breast tissue may
cause the breasts to sag and stretch the areola (the dark skin
surrounding the nipple). In these cases the position and size of the
areola can be surgically improved and excess skin may be reduced.
Hair transplant surgery is surgery that is performed to
restore hair to areas of the scalp that are bald or that have thinning
hair. There are multiple types of hair replacement surgery. Most
commonly, these involve hair transplantation, but flap surgery, tissue
expansion of the scalp and scalp reduction surgery, are also methods
used for hair replacement. Each of these types of surgeries can be used
alone, or in combination, to provide the patient with the best possible
outcome for hair replacement.
Rhinoplasty, sometimes referred to as a "nose job" or
"nose reshaping" by patients, enhances facial harmony and the
proportions of your nose. It can also correct impaired breathing caused
by structural defects in the nose.
Surgical body contouring following major weight loss
removes excess sagging skin and fat while improving the shape of the
underlying support tissue. The result is a better-proportioned
appearance with smoother contours.
Dramatic weight loss has many
benefits. But after any substantial amount of weight loss due to weight
loss surgery and/or lifestyle changes, the skin and tissues often lack
the elasticity to conform to the reduced body size.
