Dr. Ritchie A. L. Younger is one of the leading facial plastic surgeons in Canada. He is well known for his high ethical standards and professional skills in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Younger graduated from the University of Alberta’s Medical School with 1st class standing in 1979. Subsequently, he interned at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary and underwent general surgery training in Edmonton, followed by a head and neck surgery residency in Vancouver at the University of British Columbia.
To complete his Canadian specialty training, he traveled to Switzerland to study facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, followed by fellowship training as a clinical instructor in Facial Cosmetic Surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
Dr. Younger has successfully completed the Canadian Board exams in head and neck surgery, the American Board exams in both head and neck surgery and facial plastic surgery. He served as a Director of Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of British Columbia for 15 years. Currently, Dr. Younger is the only facical plastic surgeon in Vancouver who also is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of British Columbia.
The doctor is a frequent lecturer and course instructor throughout North America on facial plastic and cosmetic surgery topics and has served not only as Vice President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery but also as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery.
Numerous scientific journal publications, book chapters and medical meeting presentations round out his academic career, serving as a basis for honesty and integrity while assessing potential patients for facial plastic surgery through the Younger Facial Surgery Centre.
