Dr. Elizabeth Hall-Findlay has been in practice in Banff since 1983. She has had extensive training in both aesthetic (cosmetic) and reconstructive surgery in both Canada and the United States. Dr. Hall-Findlay completed her plastic surgery residency in San Francisco and New York City. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) and she is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Hall-Findlay has built and developed a private surgical facility in her office in Banff and now restricts her practice to cosmetic breast and abdominal surgery. She still maintains a teaching and academic focus to her practice. She travels extensively as she is frequently asked to speak and perform surgery for teaching purposes both nationally and internationally. She gives teaching courses at major American plastic surgery meetings. She has performed surgery for educational purposes on every continent except Antarctica. These conferences have been not only in the United States but also in places as far away as Vienna, Milan, Cairo, Tel Aviv, Melbourne, Rio de Janeiro, Holland, Germany, and Thailand.
Dr. Hall-Findlay attended Havergal College in Toronto, Neuchatel Junior College in Switzerland, McGill University in Montreal, and the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario.
She received the Horner medal in Otolaryngology and the Roche Scholarship for progress, proficiency and leadership. She was Chief of Staff at the Mineral Springs Hospital for several years, and is actively involved with the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Alberta, most recently chairing the Committee on Non-Hospital Surgical Facilities. She also chaired the College committee on sexual abuse of patients by physicians.
A strong advocate of women’s issues, she was honoured with a Woman of Distinction Award by the Calgary YWCA in 1994. She has completed a term as a member of the Ethics Committee of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is current Chair of their Membership Committee.
She is on the American Society’s Safety Committee, Instructional Course Committee, the Continuing Medical Education Committee, she also is on the executive of the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
