Different types of massage strokes can be used depending onwhether the patient needs to increase recovery and lymph drainage, improveflexibility or muscle spasm. Pre- event massage can be used before competitionto warm up the muscles and loosen any areas of tightness. Alternatively, it canbe used after an event to help with recovery.
