Beauty Salon Treatments Medical Aesthetics IPL Hair Removal Neck (15 mins) The IPL (Intense Pulsed Light Therapy) hair removal procedure produces a high intensity flash of filtered light from the applicator head, which has been placed in contact with the skin. The energy from the light source is absorbed by the pigment melanin, which is the chromophore, which gives hair its colour. The hair rapidly absorbs this filtered light and transfers it to the surrounding cells that in turn are converted into heat raising them to a temperature of 70 degree Centigrade or more. The heating denatures the cells making them incapable of producing further hair growth.

IPL Skin Rejuvenation Facial (30 mins) Intense pulsed light Systems release precisely controlled strong pulses of filtered light that are absorbed by the melanin in freckles, sun spots or liver spots as well as varicose and thread/spider veins. The pigmented area absorbs the light and is heated, and is removed by skin renewal. Following treatment, the pigmented area turns darker and may crust. Over the following weeks the pigmented area will gradually flake away from the skin leaving little trace of the original mark.

Dermatology Acne Treatment Small Area (10 mins) Acne IPL treatment works in the same way as skin rejuvenation by getting straight to the root of the problem. The treatment uses specific selected wavelengths and optimised pulse duration and shape. The light is absorbed by haemoglobin, the red pigment in the blood, which then heats the area producing a minor reaction to the sebaceous glands. This in turn slows down the overall production of oil that leads to acne, thus dramatically reducing the chance of spots and minimising the appearance of pores in general.
