Nigro Dermatology - River Oaks

He received his BA in Human Biology at Stanford University in 1984. He completed his MD degree at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1988. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco in 1991 and a melanoma fellowship also at UCSF in 1992. He completed his dermatology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1995 during which time he served as the Chief Resident and the fellow in pediatric dermatology in his final year of residency. He was board certified in pediatrics in 1991, board certified in dermatology in 1995, and board certified in pediatric dermatology in 2004. He was an assistant professor of dermatology and pediatrics at the Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital from 1995-2000. During this time he served as the chief of dermatology at the Ben Taub General Hospital. In June of 2000, he joined his wife, Dr. Marjory Nigro, in private practice and since that time he has practiced pediatric dermatology exclusively. He remains on the dermatology faculty at the Baylor College of Medicine on a volunteer basis.

She is a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she finished medical school and dermatology residency, becoming board certified in 1992. She was in private practice and academics for two years and then moved to the U.S. She completed a full dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine and became board-certified in the U.S. in 1999. Dr. Nigro served as Chief Resident during her last year of residency. She volunteers at Ben Taub Hospital Dermatology Clinic teaching Baylor residents and medical students. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a member of the Houston Dermatologic Society, and she serves as the Chairman of the Dermatology Department at Southwest Memorial Hospital. Her practice is devoted to medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. Dr. Marjory Nigro has been among the Top Doctors in Houston for the past two years. Dr. Nigro speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and French. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

She M.D. grew up in Houston and completed her college education at Rice University in Houston, graduating magma cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology in 1991. She earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1995, after marrying her college sweetheart, who also graduated from BCM the same year. She completed an internship in Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine in 1996 while her husband completed his surgical internship. She then completed her dermatology residency training at Baylor College of Medicine, and received her board certification in dermatology in 1999. She practiced general dermatology for a year in Houston with Suzanne Bruce and Associates while waiting for her husband to complete his residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at BCM. She then completed a one-year fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, training mainly at St. Louis Children's Hospital, while her husband completed his fellowship in Spine Surgery at WUSM as well. She returned to Houston the summer of 2001 to begin building her Pediatric Dermatology practice as her husband began his practice of Orthopedic Spine Surgery in the Texas Medical Center. She joined Nigro Dermatology Group in March 2004, which allowed her to concentrate on her Pediatric Dermatology practice, and became board certified in the subspecialty of Pediatric Dermatology in October 2004. She maintains her certification in general Dermatology as well. She has been a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Texas Dermatological Society since 1995, and she joined the Society for Pediatric Dermatology in 2000. She is also a longstanding member of the Harris County Medical Society.
