Cheek Filler
What happens with cheeks as we age?
When we are young, fat is
evenly distributed into our face. With age, that fat loses volume and
drifts down, features that were formerly rounded may sink, and skin that
was smooth and tight becomes loose and sags. Over time, ligaments
loosen as well which can cause fatty tissue to shift downward, making
the cheeks appear flat and hollowed. After the age of 50, bone loss may
become evident and cause slack skin as well. Loss of volume in the
cheeks may also decrease support in the tear trough area or under eye
hollows and because of this volume loss, nasolabial folds may become
more apparent as well.
What is cheek filler?
Cheek fillers are injections into the cheekbone area that are used to restore lost volume or to define facial bone structure.
• They add volume to the cheek area if the face has lost volume due to ageing or if you have lost a lot of weight.
• They create a contoured and defined cheekbone to improve the beauty of the face
• They lift your cheeks to reduce the appearance of sagging.
•
They can be combined with anti-wrinkle injections or dermal filler in
other areas of the face to give an overall more rejuvenated, youthful
appearance.
