About Sophie Piper Aesthetics

Established in 2016 by Registered Nurse Sophie Southway, Sophie Piper Aesthetics as been consistently innovative offering the latest cosmetic treatments.

Sophie has a Bachelor of Science in Adult nursing, she started her career in nursing when she qualified in 2014, first starting out on a gynaecology ward in Bristol. Sophie has always been passionate about women's health and this shines through in her role as an aesthetic nurse.

In 2016 Sophie spent some time in the neonatal intensive care unit which provided her with her valued life support skills.

In 2017 Sophie and had also qualified in gaining a post graduate diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing, she then went on to become a health visitor for 2 years alongside starting up her aesthetics business.

In 2020 Sophie then qualified in non medical prescribing, providing her with additional knowledge and skill to be able to assess, manage and prescribe for her patients, thus enhancing her patient care. Sophie decided to expand from carrying out treatments in her her home clinic and opened the clinic in south Bristol in 2020.

Sophie is very creative and artistic and loves creating thing, her creative flare is what drove her passion for aesthetics.

Dermal Fillers

As we age our skin elasticity weakens, becomes thinner, and collagen levels are reduced. In combination our bone density weakens along with the fat pads in the face separating causing volume loss, thus causing wrinkles and the reason for volume loss on the face causing the skin on the face to sag. This treatment uses a dermal filler which consists of Hyaluronic acid, this has been used for many years and has an excellent safety record. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component to everyone's skin and is found almost everywhere in the body. It hydrates, smooths and defines features. Results can be seen instantly and can last between 6 - 12 months, depending on the area that is treated. It is injected into the skin to fill facial lines, wrinkles and folds. It can also be injected to replace volume loss to the skin. The amount of product needed is dependant on every individuals anatomy, their desired results and the treatment area.
 

Cheek Augmentation

Cheek Filler If you have excessive fat in this area you will need around 3/4 ml for best results. Strategically placing the dermal filler high upon the cheek bone will give the illusion of a slimmer more heart shaped face. Dermal filler can also be placed within the cheeks to replace the volume which may have been lost with age, this procedure also helps with 'nose to mouth lines' as it helps lift the skin reducing the lines in this area. As with all of our procedures the practitioner will tailor all treatments to suit your own individual needs and anatomy. However it is important to remember that this is not a weight loss tool and can only give an illusion of a slimmer face, the amount of filler you will need depends on your anatomy.
 

Chin Augmentation

Not all patients are candidates for this procedure. Those with a strong masseter muscle at the back of the jaw (this can be felt when you bite down and clench your jaw). If you see or feel any significant bulging then unfortunately it is not possible to define you in this area until you have had treatment to relax the muscle. ​ Also those with a BMI over what is considered the healthy range and/or those with excess fatty tissues in the area, will not be suitable for treatment, as this not liposuction nor a weight loss tool. This procedure is to define the jawbone which is impossible if any of the above is present. A minimum for 3ml is required as this area does have a large surface area and does require a lot of product for the best results. ​ CHIN From the front we can give the illusion of weightloss, contour and more definition. From the side, we can balance the profile ( make the nose appear smaller, balance an overbite etc ) , give the illusion of a sharper jaw and thus slightly reduce the appearance of a double chin. For the best results a minimum of 2 ml is needed to contour.
 

Fat Reduction Injections

Here at SPA we use the drug Aqualyx for our fat dissolving treatments. Aqualyx injections safely remove fat through your lymphatic system, the injections target areas which you are unable to get rid of with diet and exercise, therefore treatment is for contouring certain areas of the body such as the 'double chin', inner and outer thighs, 'love handles', stomach and back.
 

Lip Augmentation

Here at Sophie Piper Aesthetics we create bespoke lips. We understand that every client is an individual and so are their lips, which is why we tailor lips on an individual basis to complement and work with your natural anatomy. We discuss with you the type of product that will be used prior to the treatment along with the injection technique in order to achieve your desired look. We work to achieve every clinets goal whether it be a juicy plump pout a more subtle and natural enhancement, whatever you desire we are here to help you on your lip filler journey. Lip fillers can be used to add definition, shape and volume to the lips. The amount of filler you will require will depend on the results you want to achieve along with your own natural anatomy. It will be required to have more than one treatment in order to maintain your desired look as Hyaluronic acid is broken down naturally by the bodies metabolism. Topical anaesthetic is used to numb the lips prior to the treatment for your comfort, we also use premium products which also have a local anaesthetic. Most clients need 2-3ml of dermal filler over sessions spread 6 weeks apart initially to create their desired results.

Profhilo®

Profhilo represents a new category of treatments which improves skin quality & gives visible results in just two treatments. it is a hyaluronic acid formulated with the new patented technology, it improves the skin texture, elasticity and hydration, with a tightening and lifting effect. Therefore it is great for those who want to combat the signs of ageing, dull or tired looking skin and loss of facial volume. It stimulates 4 different types of collagen and elastin due to the slow release of hyaluronic acid, and it is this stimulation that results in significant improvement of tissue quality. Profhilo is injected into five specific areas each side of the face and can also be used in other areas such as the neck, hands and arms.
