About Varicose Vein Clinic
Varicose vein is a very common disease. It may present in several ways. Aside from an obvious
bulging or flat leg veins of the leg, patients may experience leg
ache, heaviness or even pain. If left untreated, the varicose veins worsens with time. Some of the complication associated with varicose vein include hyperpigmentation, venous stasis ulcer, lipodermatosclerosis and others.
There are
several treatment options available such as:
1. High ligation and Vein stripping,
2. Endovenous
thermal ablation using Laser or Radiofrequency,
3. Mechnicochemical ablation using the Clarivein system
4. Ambulatory microphlebectomy
5. Transilluminated, ultrasound guided sclerotherapy
6. Superficial spot RF therapy for spider veins and telangiectasia
Prior to any varicose vein treatment, it is recommended that the patient undergo clinical evaluate which includes history & PE and if needed venous duplex study.
Treatment plan is based on the clinical evaluation and assessment. At times patient may undergo
one or two or a combination of the different treatment modalities. All our interventions
mentioned above except for the high ligation and vein stripping are done in the office- as an outpatient
procedure.
