I recently underwent a hair transplant at Glojas Smart International Aesthetic and wanted to share my detailed experience to help others considering this procedure.
Overview: After dealing with a receding hairline for a few years, I decided to get a hair transplant before the change became too obvious. I reached out to Glojas Smart International Aesthetic for a free consultation in early May.
Procedure:
• Method: Smart FUE
• Grafts: 2000
• Location: Glomac Galeria Hartamas, Sri Hartamas
• Experience: The clinic was clean, professional, and organized with video screens showcasing different treatment options.
Consultation:
• I met with Sheila, a Senior Consultant, for an hour-long consultation where she explained the entire process. Towards the end, Dato Dr. JasG evaluated my hair loss and sketched potential hairlines on my head. We discussed whether I wanted the donor area partially shaven or unshaven and the transplant area unshaven to avoid looking too different on video calls. There was no pressure to commit immediately, and Sheila followed up with pricing information.
Decision:
• After comparing other clinics, I chose Glojas for their technique, clinic quality, and professionalism.
Planning:
• I paid a deposit and received detailed instructions for pre-procedure care, such as reducing smoking and drinking. I was informed that the procedure would finish around 4-6 PM and was scheduled to arrive at 7:30 AM on the procedure day.
Procedure Day:
• Arrival: I arrived at 7:30 AM and was greeted by nurse Anis. After signing a disclaimer, I chose my lunch and changed into a Glojas robe.
• Hair Preparation: Anis shaved the donor area to grade 0.
• Entertainment: Each treatment room had a large TV with Netflix and YouTube options, which was great for the long day ahead.
• Anesthetic for Donor Area: The injections were uncomfortable, but a massage gun was used to distract from the pain. After the first injection, the following ones were less painful as the area became numb.
• Donor Section: Dr. JasG made puncture holes for 1000 follicles, and Anis extracted and sorted them into single, dual, and triple-haired follicles. This process took about 2 hours. I felt no pain due to the anesthesia.
• Hairline: Dr. JasG drew the final hairline in pen to avoid smudging during the transplant.
• Anesthetic for Transplant Area: This was also uncomfortable, with periodic top-ups needed during the transplant process.
Transplant Process:
• First Part: I was reclined and Dr. JasG made numerous puncture holes in the recipient area. Anis began transplanting the follicles, starting with the hairline using single-haired follicles.
• Lunch: Around 1 PM, I had a quick meal and reviewed the progress with Anis.
• Second Part: Anis continued the tedious but crucial work of transplanting the remaining follicles. The process took longer due to some bleeding, and nurse Emma joined to help. The transplant was completed by 6:45 PM.
Post-Transplant:
• Anis washed my hair, bandaged the donor area, and provided medication (antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, painkiller). I received detailed aftercare instructions and wore a bandana cap until the next day's wash.
Day 2 Hair Wash:
• Nurse Afifa performed a gentle, luxurious wash, used infra-red light for blood flow, and applied antiseptic cream. She explained how to use the provided shampoo, ATP spray, and cream.
Summary: The journey was well worth it, and I’m thrilled with the results. The staff at Glojas, including Dr. JasG, Sheila, Anis, Emma, Lin, and Afifa, were fantastic. The aftercare was comprehensive, and I felt well-supported throughout the process. I highly recommend Glojas Smart International Aesthetic.
