Skin peels are a treatment that re-generate and re-surface the skin by creating a controlled trauma to the skin. Peels generally remove the top layers of skin to help stimulate collagen production and therefore improves sun-damaged skin, skin pigmentation problems, wrinkles, skin texture, and the overall appearance of the skin.
What types of skin peels are there?
There are many types of skin peels available, ranging from superficial to medium depth to deep. Depending on what skin condition we are treating will depend on the depth of peel chosen.
Superficial Peels
Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHA) peels.
Lactic acid is a naturally occurring acid in the body. Lactic acid peels can be performed at different strengths, and their main role is to remove the top layers of skin, and to stimulate cellular turnover. Lactic acid peels can slightly tingle, but no downtime is required and they can be done on all skin types. After treatment your skin will feel smoother and look fresher.
