Intragastric balloon application is a procedure performed in a short time using the endoscopic method. In order to perform the procedure, sedation anesthesia is required. By reaching the stomach through the endoscope, it is first checked whether the stomach is healthy or not, and then the gastric balloon is placed in the stomach and inflated to the desired volume and the procedure is completed. The gastric balloons we apply can remain in your stomach for a period of 6 months to a year. After the procedure is completed, the patient can be discharged after being monitored for 1-2 hours in the hospital.      After gastric balloon application, the expectation is to achieve approximately 20% weight loss within 6 months. Although this varies from person to person, weight loss of an average of 15-30 kilos is possible.

Gastric bypass surgery shows its effect through three mechanisms;   1. It has a restrictive effect as the stomach volume is reduced.  2. By reducing absorption since the small intestine is bypassed   3. Via hormonal effect      Gastric bypass surgery ends obesity by causing 70-80% loss of excess weight in these three ways.  This effect is more permanent and stronger than sleeve gastrectomy.      Gastric bypass surgery is performed by laparoscopic (closed) method. The surgery takes approximately 45 minutes on average in our series. Advantages  • The rate of weight regain is lower than sleeve gastrectomy. For this reason, the need for revision surgery is less common.  • In the presence of type 2 diabetes, blood sugar control and regulation is more effective and permanent than sleeve gastrectomy.   • In the presence of reflux or hiatal hernia, the first option is obesity surgery due to its therapeutic effect on reflux.

I had bulbous nose and my surgery had in May 2023. Dr Bahitten is very professional I’m really satisfied with the results. The hospital was clean and tidy and the staff was very friendly & helpful. Ideal for solo travellers. The package was responsible too. Please ask for medical documents before leaving the hospital cause on Airport you can be ask for your reports. I highly recommend this Hospital.

I am now 3 weeks post-op, and I must say I am very happy and pleased with my results. Dr. Ismet was my surgeon, and Sezen helped me along the way. Both of them are amazing people. Dr. Ismet looked after me very well before and after surgery, a thorough health check was done. I was also picked up from the airport and brought back for my appointments. The hospital staff were lovely and took great care of my travel companion. 3 weeks post-op, I have already lost 1 stone, 8 and a half pounds so far. If you are in search of a surgeon for your operation Dr. Ismet is your doctor.
