Dr. Deep Goel is an alumnus of the prestigious Kasturba Gandhi Medical College Mangalore which is an internationally acclaimed centre of excellence for Medical Education. He was recipient of the Gold Medal for academics during his MBBS.
Passionately interested in surgery, he joined the surgery training residency programme at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi in 1992.
Sir Ganga Ram Hospital was actively absorbing the latest medical developments from all over the globe and this exposed Dr. Deep Goel to the fascinating world of Minimal Access Surgery (MAS) while he qualified with the Diplomate of the National Board (DNB) in 1996. His passionate zeal for MAS took him to some of the best centers of surgical training in the world.
He secured a specialist surgery registrar-ship at the Department of Surgery and Vascular Surgery at the Royal London Hospital, UK. This appointment is fiercely competed for amongst surgeons from all over the world and Dr. Goel’s selection was very special. His enthusiasm and zeal endeavored him to his peers and patients and his knowledge and surgical skills made him a much sought after registrar with some of the Doyens of Surgery at the Royal London Hospital.
In 1998, he was granted the fellowship of the Royal College Surgeons of England. Fellowship at the Mount Sinai Medical School, New York USA and Bagatelle Hospital, Bourdex, France followed and laid a solid foundation for his consultant practice of the future.
With an extensive experience and association of over 700 bariatric (weight loss) operations, he has one of the largest single surgeon experience of Bariatric operation in the subcontinent.
He is currently the Director of Surgical Gastroenterology, Minimal Access and Bariatric Surgery at the BLK Super Speciality hospital, New Delhi, India. This is best modern 650 bed super specialty facility with a large cancer centre where advanced minimal access technique is being used for the betterment of patients suffering with GI Cancers and morbid obesity.
