Joanne Dyson has MA in Philosophy, Psychology & Physiology at University College, Oxford and gained her acupuncture qualification from the Northern College of Acupuncture in York.
She is a member of British Acupuncture Council and its Regional Group Co-ordinator for West Yorkshire.
Joanne was a lecturer in BSc Acupuncture course at Leeds Metropolitan University. She
is also the Founder/Director and lead practitioner at Leeds Community Acupuncture. She believes acupuncture can contribute much to the public health and wellbeing and the access to acupuncture should be wider. She works to promote integration of acupuncture with health and social care system.
She recently took on the position as an acupuncturist at the Bridge Clinic at Radiotherapy Department in St James’s Hospital to help cancer patients after their cancer treatment.
Joanne has a special interest in pain management, and the role of acupuncture in neurological diseases and health issues related to stress.
Joanne is fluent in both spoken and written Chinese. She studies extensively ancient texts relating to Chinese medicine, philosophy and religion. She loves Jazz, Yoga, playing piano and making bread.
