It was set up by Jan Davis and Nan Fellows in 1997, both traditionally trained, widely experienced, fully licensed and insured members of the British Acupuncture Council the largest governing body for acupuncturists in the UK.

Acupuncture originated in China and other far eastern cultures where it still features in mainstream health-care both as a standalone therapy and in combination with conventional Western Medicine.
