Miss Lisa Lee
Job Title:
Practice Therapist Biography:
Lisa Lee, BA(Hons), MA, PhD, Lic. Ac., MBAcC is a fully qualified and licensed acupuncturist, whose journey to acupuncture started ten years ago when she experienced its transformative power as a patient and decided after several years to bring the benefits of acupuncture to others. She completed the BAAB accredited Acupuncture Academy's three year training programme in Leamington Spa, and was awarded a Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture with Distinction and was highly commended for her clinical skills. As part of her training, she worked under the supervision of Guy Caplan at Nora Franglen's SOFEA clinic on Harley Street and has also attended several continuing professional development workshops led by renowned acupuncturists including Niki Bilton and Nora Franglen.
Drawing mainly on the principles of Five Element Acupuncture for diagnosis and treatment, Lisa's approach also espouses wider approaches used in Chinese Medicine to address the individual needs of every patient. As such, she includes a wide array of tools and techniques in her treatments, including dietary advice based on the understanding of food energetics in Chinese Medicine, or massage techniques such as Gua-Sha or Cupping.
Prior to training as an acupuncturist, Lisa was a Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh for thirteen years following the completion of her doctorate at the University of Sussex. This background has given her an important basis for her work as an acupuncturist, not only when exploring with patients the various aspects of their lives and how this may relate to their symptoms, but also when keeping abreast of the latest research in the field of acupuncture, health and well-being.
Originally from New Zealand and having spent her childhood there, as well as in France and Switzerland, Lisa grew up spending as much time as possible in the outdoors, and she still goes running, skiing and mountain-biking as often as she can.
