Hi, I'm Anne Hughes of Well-Being-Dublin; a highly qualified and experienced, advanced-acupuncturist, herbalist and naturopath based in Clontarf, Dublin 2.
The services I offer include the following:
acupuncture, cupping, auricular acupuncture, moxa, gua sha, herbal medicine, detailed dietary and lifestyle advice, plus individually-tailored techniques for clients to create their own on-going strategy for enhanced health and speedy recovery from presenting symptoms/underlying conditions.
I work with men, women and teenagers, using a comprehensive holistic approach to treat illness and enhance all-round health for a wide variety of health conditions, including but not limited to, the following:
Pain Relief, Insomnia, Anxiety, Depression, low-energy, Addiction, Arthritis,Migraines, Backache, Sports-injuries, Stress-relief, Neck pain, Sinusitis, Asthma, Gastritis, I.B.S. Constipation. Knee-pain, Foot pain and more.
My background degree and masters, prior to becoming a holistic practitioner, are in the fields of psychology and Addiction.
Therefore, health challenges related to psychological-emotional health and dependence of all kinds from smoking to prescription and non-prescription drugs, are areas I'm very experienced in treating, have a keen understanding of and empathy towards.
I also have a particular interest in pain-relief as my training in Canada was in both Chinese and Japanese acupuncture and the mix of diagnostics and treatment protocols from both is particularly effective to eradicate pain
However, overall I genuinely find it most rewarding to treat as widely as possible.
That's so as to continually enhance my learning and also to offer my services more widely to those who I can treat with the multi-faceted approach of the three holistic modalities, Acupuncture, Herbs and Naturopathy.
ABOUT:
After my M.A. (hons) in Addiction studies, a short course in Ear Acupuncture for Detoxification led me to decide to become an Acupuncturist.
I then gained my Dip. Ac. (hons) after 3 years training in Toronto, Canada, at "The Acupuncture Institute" a 1600 hour full time programme, (an equivalent is not offered in Ireland), and have been in practice now in Ireland as an acupuncturist for over 10 years.
6 years ago I graduated from the College of Naturaopthic Medicine in Dublin, as a herbalist and naturopath and have integrated these powerful modalities into my Well-Being-Dublin practice from then on.
I'm a fully insured practitioner and a registered member of the regulatory bodies of the A.C.I. (Acupuncture Council of Ireland), The I. R.H. (The Irish Register of Herbalists) and the I.N.A. (The Irish Naturopaths Association).
My acupuncture treatment costs are partly re-imbursable with a variety of health care providers including V.H.I. GioHealth, Irish Life Health to Laya Healthcare.
My work has featured on TV3's Today show, The Ryan Turbity Show, and in various magazines from Woman's Way to Social & Personal magazine, (who referred to me professionally as: "ONE OF THE BEST THERAPISTS I HAVE EVER MET").
