I had a dental emergency while I was on holiday in Buenos Aires and Dr. Sorrentino gave me an appointment for the next morning! I would happily recommend this clinic.
The clinic was clean and had very good equipments. I got also plenty of pictures to show my regular dentist what Dr. Sorrentino has done.

The work was done efficiently and with the highest professional standards

5 50 Fillings • Paid: $ 3545

While in Buenos Aires for two months, a filling in one of my molars came out. In what could have been a traumatic situation, I was fortunate to find Dr. Sorrentino. His restoration was excellent and his personable approach was a great relief. I wish he were my dentist in Canada.

The pain and anxiety that always accompany dental work were minimized. The work was done efficiently and with the highest professional standards. My Spanish is not great but I was able to communicate easily with Dr. Sorrentino in English.

I would highly recommend

5 50 Root Filling

Dr Sorrentino has just completed the work on my teeth.I got a toothache in Chile and a dentist there took out the nerves of two upper molars to relieve the pain. In Argentina, I went to Dr Sorrentino to complete the job. He referred me to a root canal specialist for the work who removed the roots with minimal pain and I returned to his office to complete the job. He was very professional and friendly. His English was very good. I went to him based on the reviews of previous foreign patients. I would highly recommend him.

There is no clinic, just a dental office in a building. His office is 1A. It would be helpful if there was an indication externally as you have to ring the bell and he comes down to get you. I rang the wrong bell by mistake.

The treatment and results were outstanding

5 50 Dental Bridges, Fillings, Teeth Cleaning

I received several treatments in many teeth, from cleaning to restoration, esthetic modifications, overall a whole mouth treatment to solve each problem (also permanent bridge, prosthetic, replace damaged fillings)

The treatment and results were outstanding. I had a big work to do in my denture. Dr Sorrentino has reconstructed many teeth with a new, precise and durable work. He is every time updating his knowledge with new methods.

I am very pleased with my treatment. I strongly recommend him as he is an excellent professional. He also shows a clear interest in the patient to get the best result possible and takes the time to explain every possible treatment and procedure in sufficient detail. His procedures are among the most technologically innovative ones I found so far. Importantly, he is clearly a skilled and highly knowledgeable person in his field."

I am very pleased by the results.

Fillings

I had some extreme pain in 2 of my teeth. Dr Sorrentino performed a efficient and thorough diagnosis using equipment I had never seen in my home country (Uk). He replaced two fillings and gave me a referral for additional work. He took time to do each filling and I am very pleased by the results.

If you need an English speaking dentist in BA I would recommend Dr Sorrentino over anyone else he is knowledgable, professional and thorough. I feel like I had better treatment here than I have ever managed to get at home

My mouth already looks a lot better

5 50 Fillings • Paid: $ 28985

I first decided to go for a check because my wisdom teeth started to hurt. After the check turns out that I had some other issues, from caries to weak gums. I decided to go on with a full treatment and after a couple of weeks my mouth already looks a lot better, and I'm sure that dental fillings will help me to keep it this way easily.

Since I'm new to Buenos Aires I first decided to try this clinic because of the good feedbacks it received on the internet and because it is really close to my house. I was really satisfied: Dr C. Sorrentino's service is absolutely impeccable. He is truly competent and always takes all the time needed to solve your doubts. I'll keep going to this clinic and I recommend it to everyone.

I can smile again after amazing work

5 50 Fillings, Root Canals

For over a year I had been looking for a dentist that could do a complete ‘overhaul’ of my mouth/teeth; I was in constant pain due to overdue fillings & root canal but worst of all the roots of my teeth were horribly exposed due to a severely receded gum line. After several disappointing visits to various private, reputable and recommended dentists in Colombia & Buenos Aires I finally, through finding positive reviews online, came across Dr. Sorrentino’s clinic ‘Dental Palermo’.
I cannot recommend Dr Sorrentino more highly- he is extremely professional and approachable, and unlike many other dentists he really takes his time to explain all procedures and follow up care really well. His office and dental surgery area have a very considered zen like & calming atmosphere (not one intimidating white light in sight), his office is warm and the surgery has low lights (yet mouth area lit well using the appropriate dental lights), background music and a calming screen to watch during the procedures.

After the first consultation Dr. Sorrentino presented me with an amazingly detailed Treatment Plan; which showed all the work needed through a comprehensive tooth plan supported by digital shots from the inside of my mouth. He managed to organize his schedule to fit in all the work in a very short amount of time- he always worked in a very focused and organized way, no pain and fast yet never rushed.
The final result was beyond what I could imagine- I can actually smile again! As I said, I could not recommend Dr. Sorrentino more and I will make every effort to coincide my trips to Argentina with a check- ups at Dental Palermo.
It is also well worth noting that Dr. Sorrentino also speaks perfect English which is invaluable if your Spanish is less than perfect.

Nice and Knowledgable

4.9 50 Fillings • Paid: $ 6000

I highly recommend Dr Claudio Sorrentino. I found him to be extremely capable, thorough, and honest. I found his diagnostic tools to be better than what I received in the USA as he used what I believe is laser technology as well as X-rays&photos. he was very patient and took time to explain the condition of my teeth & gums and treatment options as well as what I should do to keep up good dental hygiene. Prices fair given the high quality of his services and materials used. I had composite fillings done +. I am leaving buenos aires too soon to do all of what I need done, so he helped me decide what made sense to do here and what I should wait to do in the USA. Dr Sorrentino speaks excellent English and was very nice and knowledgable. I was lucky to find him!!

Amazing dentist! Really the best I've ever had, and I've been to many. The level of technology and expertise that Dr. Sorrentino has in his office really blows away any other dentist I've seen in Canada. I would probably make a bi-annual trip to Buenos Aires just to get my teeth cleaned from him. While not particularly cheap for Argentina, it's WAY cheaper than anything you'll find in North America or Europe with technology they've never even heard of. Dr. Sorrentino correctly identified a gum problem (that had been misdiagnosed by numerous other dentists) and was able to give me what seems like brand new teeth in a matter of months. My mouth feels like it's brand new. I would recommend anyone looking for the highest quality dental service on a budget to go see my good friend Claudio.

Air Abrasion

Air Abrasion - Dental Palermo

Air abrasion is a drill-less technique that is being used bysome dentists to remove tooth decay and for other applications.

How Does Air Abrasion Work?

During air abrasion, an instrument that works like a minisandblaster is used to spray away decay. During air abrasion, a fine stream ofparticles is aimed at the decayed portion of the tooth. These particles aremade of silica, aluminum oxide, or a baking soda mixture and are propelledtoward the tooth surface by compressed air or a gas that runs through thedental handpiece. Small particles of decay on the tooth surface are removed asthe stream of particles strikes them. The particles of decay are then"suctioned" away through a thin tube.

Is Air Abrasion Safe?

Yes, air abrasion is safe. The only precautions neededbefore air abrasion are protective eye wear (to prevent eye irritation from thespray) and the use of a rubber dam (a rubber sheet that fits around teeth) orprotective resin applied to nearby teeth and gums to protect areas of the mouththat arent being treated. The suctioning of particles also prevents them frombeing breathed into the lungs.

What Are the Advantages of Air Abrasion?

Compared with the traditional drilling method, theadvantages of air abrasion are many and include the following:

  • Air abrasion generates no heat, sound, pressure, or vibration.
  • Air abrasion reduces the need for anesthesia, particularly if the cavity is shallow.
  • Air abrasion leaves much more of the healthy tooth tissue behind.
  • Air abrasion leaves the working area relatively dry, which is an advantage during the placement of composite fillings.
  • Air abrasion reduces the risk of fracturing and chipping of the tooth, which some dentists believe can affect the life span of the filling.
  • Air abrasion allows the dentist to treat multiple sites in the mouth durin

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is an option that can be considered:

  • To repair decayed teeth (composite resins are used to fill cavities)
  • To repair chipped or cracked teeth
  • To improve the appearance of discolored teeth
  • To close spaces between teeth
  • To make teeth look longer
  • To change the shape of teeth
  • As a cosmetic alternative to amalgam fillings
  • To protect a portion of the tooths root that has been exposed when gums recede
Whats the Procedure for Having a Tooth Bonded?
  • Preparation. Little advance preparation is needed for dental bonding. Anesthesia is often not necessary unless the bonding is being used to fill a decayed tooth. Your dentist will use a shade guide to select a composite resin color that will closely match the color of your tooth.
  • The bonding process. Next, the surface of the tooth will be roughened and a conditioning liquid applied. These procedures help the bonding material adhere to the tooth. The tooth-colored, putty-like resin is then applied, molded, and smoothed to the desired shape. An ultraviolet light or laser is then used to harden the material. After the material is hardened, your dentist will further trim and shape it, and polish it to match the sheen of the rest of the tooth surface.
  • Time-to-completion. Dental bonding takes about 30 to 60 minutes per tooth to complete.
What Are the Advantages and Disadvantages of Dental Bonding?
  • Advantages: Dental bonding is among the easiest and least expensive of cosmetic dental procedures. Unlike and , which are customized tooth coverings that must be manufactured in a lab, bonding usually can be done in one office visit unless several teeth are involved. Another advantage, compared with veneers and crowns, is that the least amount of tooth enamel i

Dental Sealant

Dental Sealant - Dental Palermo

Dental sealant is a thin, plastic coating painted on the chewing surfaces ofteeth -- usually the back teeth (the premolars and molars) -- to prevent toothdecay. The sealant quickly bonds into the depressions and grooves of the teeth, forming a protective shield over the enamel of each tooth.

Although thorough brushing and flossing can remove food particles and plaquefrom smooth surfaces of teeth, they cannot always get into all the nooks andcrannies of the back teeth to remove the food and plaque. Sealants protectthese vulnerable areas from tooth decay by "sealing out" plaque andfood.

Who Should Get Sealants?

Because of the likelihood of developing decay in the depressions and groovesof the premolars and molars, children and teenagers are candidates forsealants. However, adults without decay or fillings in their molars can alsobenefit from sealants.

Typically, children should get sealants on their permanent molars andpremolars as soon as these teeth come in. In this way, the sealants can protectthe teeth through the cavity-prone years of ages 6 to 14.

In some cases, dental sealants may also be appropriate for baby teeth, suchas when a childs baby teeth have deep depressions and grooves. Because babyteeth play such an important role in holding the correct spacing for permanentteeth, its important to keep these teeth healthy so they are not lost tooearly.

How Long Do Sealants Last?

Sealants can protect teeth from decay for up to 10 years, but they need tobe checked for chipping or wearing at regular dental check-ups. Your dentistcan replace sealants as necessary.

Dental X-Ray

Dental X-Ray - Dental Palermo

Dental X-rays help dentists visualize diseases of the teeth andsurrounding tissue that cannot be seen with a simple oral exam. In addition,X-rays help the dentist find and treat dental problems early in theirdevelopment, which can potentially save you money, unnecessary discomfort, andmaybe even your life.

WhatProblems Can Dental X-Rays Detect?

In adults, dental X-rays can be used to:

Show areas of decay that may not be visible with an oral exam, especially small areas of decay between teeth

Identify decay occurring beneath an existing filling

Reveal bone loss that accompanies gum disease

Reveal changes in the bone or in the root canal resulting from infection

Assist in the preparation of tooth implants, braces, dentures, or otherdental procedures

Reveal an abscess (an infection at the root of a tooth or between thegum and a tooth)

Reveal other developmental abnormalities, such as cysts and some typesof tumors

In children, dental X-rays are used to:

Watch for decay

Determine if there is enough space in the mouth to fit all incomingteeth

Determine if primary teeth are being lost quickly enough to allowpermanent teeth to come in properly

Check for the development of wisdom teeth and identify if the teeth areimpacted (unable to emerge through the gums)

Glass Ionomer Cement Filling

Glass Ionomer Cement Filling - Dental Palermo
Fillings That Release Fluoride

Among the newer options for dental fillings are glass ionomers, made of acrylic acids and fine-glass powders.

Advantages: Glass ionomer fillings can be colored to blend in with surrounding natural teeth. Plus, they can be designed to release small amounts of fluoride, which helps prevent decay.

Disadvantages: Glass ionomer fillings can fracture, so they arent appropriate for chewing surfaces.

Because of their fragile nature, dentists may suggest this type of filling for cavities near the gum line or to fill between teeth.

Mouth Guard - Dental Palermo

Most people probably grind and clench their teeth from time to time.Occasional teeth grinding, medically called bruxism, does not usually cause harm, but when teeth grinding occurs on a regular basis the teeth can be damaged andother oral health complications can arise.

Why DoPeople Grind Their Teeth?

Although teeth grinding can be caused by stress and anxiety, it oftenoccurs during sleep and is more likely caused by an abnormal bite or missing orcrooked teeth.

How Do IFind Out if I Grind My Teeth?

Because grinding often occurs during sleep, most people are unaware thatthey grind their teeth. However, a dull, constant headache or sore jaw is atelltale symptom of bruxism. Many times people learn that they grind theirteeth by their loved one who hears the grinding at night.

If you suspect you may be grinding your teeth, talk to your dentist. Heor she can examine your mouth and jaw for signs of bruxism, such as jawtenderness and abnormalities in your teeth.

Why IsTeeth Grinding Harmful?

In some cases, chronic teeth grinding can result in a fracturing, loosening, or loss of teeth. The chronic grinding may wear their teeth down tostumps. When these events happen, bridges, crowns, root canals, implants, partial dentures, and even complete dentures may be needed.

Not only can severe grinding damage teeth and result in tooth loss, itcan also affect your jaws, result in hearing loss, cause or worsen TMD/TMJ, andeven change the appearance of your face.

What CanI Do to Stop Grinding My Teeth?

Your dentist can fit you with a mouth guard to protect your teeth fromgrinding during sleep.

If stress is causing you to grind your teeth, ask your doctor or dentistabout options to reduce your stress.

Scaling and Root Planing

Scaling and Root Planing - Dental Palermo
Root Planing and Scaling for Gum Disease

Root planing and scaling is one of the most effectiveways to treat gum disease before it becomes severe. Root planing and scalingcleans between the gums and the teeth down to the roots. Your dentist may needto use a local anesthetic to numb your gums and the roots of your teeth.

Some dentists and dentalhygienists will use an ultrasonic tool for the planing and scaling. This toolis not as uncomfortable as a standard scraping tool, but not all cleaningsrequire this type of tool.

The professional may place antibiotic fibers into the pockets between yourteeth and gums. The antibiotic will help speed healing and prevent infection. The dentist will remove the fibers about 1 week after the procedure.

What To Expect After Treatment

If anesthesia is used, your lips and gums may remainnumb for a few hours. Planing and scaling causes little or no discomfort.

Why It Is Done

Root planing and scaling is done when gums have eitherstarted to pull away from the teeth or the roots of the teeth have hard mineraldeposits on them.

How Well It Works

If you maintain good dental care after the procedure, the progression of gum disease should stop. And your gums will heal and becomefirm and pink again.

Risks

Root planing and scaling can introduce harmful bacteriainto the bloodstream. Gum tissue is also at risk of infection. You may need totake antibiotics before and after surgery if you have a condition that puts youat high risk for a severe infection or if infections are particularly dangerousfor you. You may need to take antibiotics if you:

  • Have certain heart problems that make it dangerous for you to get a heart infection called endocarditis.
  • Have an impaired immune system,
  • Had recent major surgeries or have man-made body parts, such as an artificial hip or heart  valve.
