Tom Cartwright - Chiropractor - Practice Therapist at Cartwright Physicaltherapy

Mr Tom Cartwright

Job Title:
  Practice Therapist
Specialisations:
  Chiropractic
Languages:
  English
Biography:

I'm Tom Cartwright, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Chiropractic Science, and a Master's degree in Chiropractic, from Macquarie University. I complemented my studies with an extensive program of observation of health professionals working in a range of therapy styles. To date, I am privileged to have observed over 50 practitioners, including physiotherapists, osteopaths and chiropractors in real consultations with patients. This unique experience combined with my current qualifications, and my own experience in practice and at sporting events, has enabled me to fine tune my skills to offer patients a refined and effective brand of physical therapy.

As a tennis enthusiast, I have competed regularly in Australian National Ranking Tournaments and I am currently the only qualified chiropractor in Australia to have held a ranking inside the top 500 players. My participation in sport at a high level has made me acutely aware of the physical demands people can place on their bodies from time to time, and the damage that can result.

I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Music from the Australian Institute of Music, and have performance experience in both orchestras and small bands. I am, consequently, also quite familiar with the discomfort that musicians sometimes endure as a result of poor posture and repetitive strain.

I founded Cartwright Physicaltherapy in August 2013. The practice prides itself on offering a range of therapeutic techniques for musculoskeletal complaints. I embrace learning and am forever updating my skill set. You can see below some of the seminars I have attended throughout 2013.

This sporting background developed my passion for health and fitness, as well as understanding how the human body works. I have previously worked closely with Chatswood Rugby Club as Chiropractor and sports trainer.

My goal is simple: to help people back to pain free movement and function as quickly as possible. To do this I employ various treatment techniques including manipulation, massage, dry needling and rehabilitation, my skill set also expands to more complex techniques and I am always learning more. My main clinical interests lie in headache management, low back and neck pain, sporting injuries and rehabilitation.

Mr Phil White - Practice Therapist at Cartwright Physicaltherapy

Mr Phil White

Job Title:
  Practice Therapist
Specialisations:
  Massage Therapy
Languages:
  English
Biography:

My name is Phil White. "I have been playing sport at an international level for the last 10 years and have developed a keen interest in ways to best manage my own training, sporting performance and well-being. The Diploma of Remedial Massage that I completed in 2012 marked the beginning of my passion to educate myself about the human body and various methods to help myself and others overcome pain, manage injury and perform at the highest level."

Phil has completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport science at Sydney University, and in 2016, has embarked on a 3 year Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at Macquarie University. Phil's extensive knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics is something that you won't find with your average massage therapist.

Phil has also been working with the Greater Western Sydney Giants AFL Club since 2012. This, along with regularly treating the likes of a Paralympic medal winning swimmer, internationally competitive powerlifters, and one of Australias most successful concert pianists, shows that he is the practitioner to see if you are serious about getting your body to function at its best.
