About My Vein Clinic

My Vein Clinic is part of The Manchester Vein Clinic situated in Altrincham near Manchester. We are a small company who started in 2014 and have grown to become one of the best varicose vein clinics in the North West.

The Manchester Vein Clinic and My Vein Clinic are a part of Independent Vascular services LTD (IVS) and Diagnostic Healthcare LTD (DHC).

IVS (Independent Vascular Services) was established in 1999 with the aim of developing non-invasive vascular investigations across the North West region.

IVS is the largest independent provider of vascular diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment in the UK. IVS specialises in diagnosis and treatment of all venous problems with a particular interest in varicose veins.

Diagnostic Healthcare Ltd (DHC) was established in 2004 to provide medical diagnostic imaging services of MRI, Ultrasound, DEXA, CT and X-ray to both NHS and private patients. The company developed innovative service models to provide cost-effective services to the NHS and delivers an extensive range of services and solutions.

DHC provide services across England from over 90 community sites. DHC works with many NHS Trusts, and also operate regional centres in Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds providing additional static clinics for both NHS and private patients.

At My Vein Clinic, we are able to offer tailored treatments to each individual, which is essential in treating a patient effectively. What makes us unique is that not only do we have fully qualified surgeons to treat you but you will also be given a full vascular assessment from one of our in-house vascular scientists before your treatment so we can clearly understand your condition and ensure that you can be treated effectively.

Formed in May 1999, IVS is the largest independent provider of vascular ultrasound diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment services in the UK. Our ultrasound service is provided by specialist accredited Vascular Scientists who only perform vascular ultrasound investigations.

We are the first service in the UK to receive formal national recognised accreditation by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). We perform over 70,000 vascular investigations per year including varicose vein and deep vein thrombosis assessments. Unlike most other services, 10% of all our investigations are audited to guarantee scan quality.

We work with more than 25 Vascular Consultants who rely on the quality of our reports for the planning of vascular treatment and often request our second opinion if scans have been previously performed by non-specialist ultrasonographers.

We have strong links with Manchester University and have been a integral part of research into vascular disease, including varicose veins and venous ulceration, for over 14 years. In 2006, we supported training of Vascular Surgeons allowing them to develop the ultrasound guided techniques for the treatment of varicose veins by Laser and Radiofrequency Ablation. In conjunction with Vascular Consultants we have supported over 2,000 varicose vein treatments with Laser and RFA.

Spider Veins Treatment

Sclerotherapy

Injection microsclerotherapy is a treatment for spider veins which involves injecting a chemical substance called “sclerosant” using fine needles. The sclerosant irritates the inner wall of the veins and causes them to become inflamed; the vein walls then stick together and the vein disappears. The sclerosant used is sodium tetradecyl sulphate or “fibro-vein”, which has been used in the treatment of varicose and spider veins since 1946.

Dermatology

Pigmentation Treatment

At the Manchester Vein Clinic we provide a large range of cosmetic laser treatments for your skin. Our clinical practitioners use the most cutting edge tried and tested laser technology north of London. We provide tailor made treatments, that suit you to get the best outcome for your skin at an affordable price. Most common pigmented lesions are freckles, age spots and liver spots. They normally contain very high concentrations of melanin (pigment) and can be caused by too much sun, ageing, genetics or injury. The green light from the Dual Yellow laser targets the melanin, which is the principal component in the lesion. You will see immediate change and in some cases, the lesion will darken slightly, which is perfectly normal. The pigment will then gradually come away over the following week. This method causes no damage to surrounding tissue and you avoid invasive procedures such as surgical removal or freezing.
