Since qualifying as a Sports Massage Therapist with Premier Training in 2003, I have worked continuously as a freelance therapist, both at various clinics, going into local businesses and also at events. I am also a qualified Personal Trainer and work at The Exercise Clinic, Bourne End offering training and rehabilitation advice to clients as well as teaching circuit classes. I then went on to study sports and remedial massage at OSSM one of only five accredited schools in the UK that teach the prestigious BTEC professional diploma course. This qualification has become the benchmark for quality training, which includes advanced remedial massage techniques and assessment skills, and an advanced working knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
I have been involved and competed in various sports including badminton, running, climbing, mountain walking, concept indoor rowing and gym work.
I work with people at all levels and ages from 6-90 years, I believe that its important to use our bodies - if we dont we lose the abilities that we take for granted when we are younger, we lose them and with them our freedom to move and live without pain. I try to make exercise functional and relevant and fun.
Sports massage has become an important part of the work I do and whether its working with professional athletes, juniors, disabled or able bodied, I thoughly enjoy what I do and believe that everyone can benefit from regular massage.I have Public and Products Liability insurance and references are available on request, I also have a valid up to date enhanced CRB certificate. I have membership of the following professional bodies Institute of Sports & Remedial Massage and Sports Massage Association and I am recognised as a Pru Health provider and registered with the Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council. I also regularly attend CPD courses to enhance my skills and keep up with new developments.
