After much research, I selected Dr. Cinik to do my hair transplant. His clinic is well-reviewed on various forums, and being able to see results from patients gave me confidence that it was a good clinic. I also like the fact that his name is on the clinic. I had very good communication with my contact at the clinic well before the date of the procedure. He answered all my questions and gave me excellent information about what to expect. The virtual evaluation of my hair via photos was completed and I was told that I was a Norwood 5 and the first procedure would give me 75% coverage. I would need a 2nd procedure in 1 year to complete the process and cover the crown. I would have liked 100% coverage, but totally understood not wanting to over-harvest the donor area in 1 shot. I realized too that this was a conservative estimate based on photos only. I only encountered some confusion on my arrival. This was in part due to my choice to stay at an Airbnb (I was staying in Istanbul for 9 days to see the sites) rather than the hotel that the clinic arranged. There was some confusion about my initial visit to the clinic for testing before the procedure, but we were able to clear it all up. The day of the procedure was very smooth. I met with Dr. Cinik and was pleased with his creation of my hairline. The procedure itself took 7 hours for 3,720 grafts. I was given good instructions for self-care, and since I was staying in Istanbul I went back to the clinic each day for a free hair wash and aftercare. This was definitely a bonus for me. One note (and reason for 1/2 star), be proactive and don't let yourself be put to sit somewhere and wait for a long time. My cousin and I were both told to sit and wait - for over an hour for our hair wash only to find out they forgot about us. This happened at other times while were in Turkey, so I suspect it is a Turkish thing and not just the clinic. Be polite, be visible, and be your own advocate. The pain was really minimal, but the discomfort was there. I am now 10 days post-procedure and am excited and highly pleased with the results. I would estimate that they did closer to 90% coverage, and the hairline looks very natural. Friends have commented that it looks so good and that they would not be able to tell I had anything done if they did not know me before (with less hair). I was surprised to see the transplanted hairs growing within 1-2 days. I look forward to continuing to see the progress over the coming weeks and look forward to going back next year to finish the crown. On a side note, Istanbul is an amazing city. My wife and I felt very safe walking around all over the city and taking cabs. The city is incredibly clean and is so rich in history and culture. We truly enjoyed exploring the city and experiencing Turkish hospitality.

Everyone at the clinic is hard working and professional. The translator, Liliana, did great throughout - she was very helpful, organized, and cared about the success of the operation.
